We are an international press with offices in Los Angeles; New York; Pretoria, South Africa; and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Tsehai’s immediate mission is to provide a venue for influential writers whose works may otherwise go unpublished. Through these efforts we hope to achieve our wider goals of fostering intercultural dialogue and social justice. Over the last decade Tsehai has produced over 50 titles and established three imprints: the African Academic Press, Chereka Books, and the Marymount Institute Press. Our award winning books cover a wide range of subjects--from a fascinating biography of the famous anti-fascist activist Sylvia Pankhurst, to profound collection of poetry from Leimert Park, and from a memoir of the 1860s British expedition to Africa to a splendid first time English translation of the 16th century Arabic text of Futuh al Habash.
